Foreign Trade & Economy of Chengdu in 2000
and Prospects in 2001
In 2000, under the leadership of the municipal Party committee and
the municipal government, making full use of the opportunities of
Western China development and China?¡¥s entry into WTO, and adhering
to the strategy of ?¡ãa strong, open city,?¡À we took great pains
to develop, boldly blazed new trails and made new progress in foreign
trade and utilizing foreign capital.
I. Basic Situation of Foreign Trade and Economy of Chengdu From
January to November:
Foreign Capital Utilization
From January to November this year, 157 projects of utilizing
foreign capital were approved, with a contract volume of US$0.343
billion, and an actual use volume of US$0.256 billion. Projects
increased by 55%, contracted volume of foreign capital decreased
by 13% and actual use of foreign capital increased by 29% over
the same period last year.
